Holyhead and Anglesey Weightlifting and Fitness Centre is a small Gym situated in Holyhead on the Isle Of Anglesey.
The centre is also known as the Gym of Champions due to its background of producing Champions in weightlifting competitions and other sports such as Olympic Weightlifting, power-lifting, professional rugby players to professional boxers and more all ranging from the age of 13 up to the ages of 77.
The centre currently holds an Olympic athlete in Gareth Evans who lifts in the 69kg category for Team GB and represents Wales. The centre boasts many names within the sport of Olympic Weightlifting.
The founder of HAWFC is Mr Raymond Williams who is a former Commonwealth Gold medallist in 1986 who won Gold for his home country of Wales.
The centre was the vision of Raymond Williams, upon finishing his glittering career in the British Army as a PTI for over 20 years he wanted to bring back fitness and his winning mentality back into the roots of Holyhead.
The Gym boasts a membership of up to 5000 across 7 years as its prides itself on being affordable, friendly and professional in delivery fitness into its members.
The centre has an extremely bright future ahead with many more plans to upgrade and develop the centre in many ways, but for now it will continue to engage the community in fitness and ensuring its members have a healthy lifestyle to live by.
